In addition to the mansion improvements and the new museum, more than 60,000 square feet of gardens are being restored. -- A leader in the statehood movement, Worthington served as one of Ohio's first two U.S. Senators and its sixth governor. His home is considered nationally significant because it is one of only three remaining houses built by America's first professional architect, Benjamin Henry Latrobe.
