The Antelope Valley - The American Cancer Society's annual 24-hour Relay For Life Relay For Life (often shortened to Relay) is a fundraising event of the American Cancer Society, and is now held in many other countries. It is an overnight event designed to spread awareness of cancer prevention, treatments and cures, celebrate survivorship and raise money will expand to two locations for the first time in the event's 10-year local history. Cancer survivors Cancer survivors are those individuals with cancer of any type, current or past, who are still living. For Palmdale, there will be performances by Boulevard Knights, Fusebox and NightWinds. Both sites will be holding their first Relay Idol and Miss Relay pageants as well. The Miss Relay contestants will be men dressed like women. Children's author Cherokee Wyatt's character Margaret Mouse will pose for photos with children from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Lancaster event.
