REHABCLINICS, INC. EXPANDS OPERATIONS VALLEY FORGE, Penn., Oct. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- RehabClinics, Inc.
(NASDAQ: RCII) announced today that it acquired The Hand Rehabilitation Center of Las Vegas, Nevada. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
The Hand Rehabilitation Center provides comprehensive rehabilitation for patients with hand and upper extremity trauma or disease. RCI president James New stated "The acquisition of The Hand Rehabilitation Center is an excellent entry into the Las Vegas marketplace because of its reputation for outstanding quality and its broad base of referral sources." RCI's strategy is to develop the most extensive network of private pay outpatient physical therapy clinics in selected markets through acquisitions and internal growth. This strategy is designed to capitalize upon the highly fragmented nature of the outpatient physical therapy industry, and the limited professional management, marketing and sales, information systems and access to capital which typically characterizes these practices. RCI has already established itself as one of the largest outpatient physical therapy companies in the country with 87 clinics in 12 states. -0- 10/19/92 /CONTACT: James C. New, president, or Alan N.
