SIMI VALLEY -- Safe Harbor Safe Harbor

 East, a center for children who are victims of physical abuse and sexual assault, is getting a final polishing on a landscaping makeover from the California Landscape Contractors Association.

Safe Harbor is operated by social service and law enforcement agencies A law enforcement agency (LEA) is a term used to describe any agency which enforces the law. This may be a local or state police, federal agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) or the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). , including the Ventura County District Attorney's Office, to protect children from abuse.

It was chosen for the project after the center lost a 100-year-old tree that had shaded the front yard of the Safe Harbor house. The landscape association is a nonprofit trade group that includes 3,200 members.
