REED ELSEVIER TO INVEST [pound]1 MILLION ON HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY WEB SITE.

Reed Business Information (London) will spend over U million this year on the rebuilding and redesigning of caterer.com, the UK's leading Web site for the hospitality industry, and o7 million over the next four years. The new version will go live on Aug. 1.

Reed claims the site currently garners over 350,000 page impressions each month from executives and professionals in the hotel, restaurant and contract catering industries. The redesigned site will include a daily news service, an upgraded jobs section, information for chefs and a database of recipes, and a range of new features for business managers.

Reed also said that revenue will come from recruitment advertising, property ads, events listings, content syndication, a directory of suppliers and a new Employer's Directory section. The site will also have a link with the soon- to-be launched caterexchange. com, a joint venture between Reed Business and Compass Group.
