REDUNDANT NETWORKS LAUNCHES CHARTER PROGRAM FOR NEXT-GEN, HIGHLY AVAILABLE COLOCATION NETWORK CATERING TO SERVICE PROVIDERS.

Redundant Networks, a secure colocation data network and next-generation network services company, has announced an innovative charter customer program targeting service providers (ASPs, ISPs and Web SPs). With its architecture and technology in place, Redundant Networks will utilize this four-month charter period to refine SP-centric implementation methodologies and service offerings while assisting anchor customers in achieving resiliency, high availability Also called "RAS" (reliability, availability, serviceability) or "fault resilient," it refers to a multiprocessing system that can quickly recover from a failure. There may be a minute or two of downtime while one system switches over to another, but processing will continue.  and fault tolerance See fault tolerant.

(architecture) fault tolerance - 1. The ability of a system or component to continue normal operation despite the presence of hardware or software faults. This often involves some degree of redundancy.

-- all within a unique dual location network. At the conclusion of the charter program in September 2002, Redundant Networks will offer general availability of its high availability services and rapidly deploy additional service provider customers with a streamlined implementation process.

A service provider for service providers, Redundant Networks' platform was specifically developed for high availability -- an infrastructure that is perfectly suited to the types of platforms, transactions, and methods that service providers typically adopt.

"We developed our data centers from the ground up for xSPs who wish to deliver services with full network reliability to their own customers," said Madison Laird laird

"This charter program will give our anchor customers direct input into the final bundling and pricing of our base level service, and will provide them the benefit of extended direct attention from our implementation specialists. We're also introducing an advancement in customer care, an attention we call high-touch service, which is a cornerstone of our founding principles. Under this program our service provider customers can speak directly with our NOC (Network Operations Center) A central or regional location for monitoring a large network. Also called a "network management center" (NMC), "service management center" (SMC) or "network control center" (NCC), a NOC may be used to manage a large enterprise network,  personnel on a 24/7 basis rather than having customer support representatives as their first few lines of recourse."

"As businesses rely more on their xSPs for mission critical transactions and business processes, they will demand high availability solutions beyond those offered in traditional hosting models," said Laurie Seymour, xSP Program Manager for IDC. "Fault tolerant The ability to continue non-stop when a hardware failure occurs. A fault-tolerant system is designed from the ground up for reliability by building multiples of all critical components, such as CPUs, memories, disks and power supplies into the same computer.  solutions such as the one from Redundant Networks will appeal to xSPs in need of a high touch relationship with their hosting provider."
