VALENCIA -- The Loose Goose Wine Festival returns this week to Bridgeport Park and various venues.

Wine Pairing Dinners -- specially-prepared menus pairing festival wines with gourmet offerings -- will be held at Salt Creek Salt Creek refers to:

 Grille ($95 per person) and Mojito ($90 per person) restaurants on Wednesday.

The Loose Goose Golf Classic is a new event for this year's festival. Golfers will enjoy a daylong event at the Tournament Player's Club themed around golf, cigars and wine, with opportunities to win prizes, including a $100,000 wine collection. Registration begins at 9 a.m., entertainment at 5 p.m. with awards dinner at 6 p.m. Cost: $250 per individual or $900 per foursome. Evening tickets are available for $50.

The Golden Goose The Golden Goose (Die goldene Gans) is a fairy tale collected by the Brothers Grimm (Tale 64). Several elements in its narrative structure follow formulaic elements in the methodology that was formulated by Antti Aarne and his translator Stith Thompson (the  Gala, a VIP reserve-tasting black-tie dinner with live entertainment, will be held in a secret location on Friday; tickets are $250 per person, location will be revealed to ticket holders on the day of the event.

The Loose Goose Wine Festival After Dark begins at 5 p.m. Saturday, featuring gourmet cuisine and samplings of an international mix of large, medium and smaller vineyards. Live entertainment will be provided by the Doctor Wu band from 5 to 7 p.m., KLSX radio personalities Frosty frost·y

The Loose Goose Wine Festival continues from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and will feature gourmet food and wines as well as entertainment from the D'Anbino Family jazz band and the Pete Escovedo Pete Escovedo is a world-famous Afro-Latin American musician, father to Sheila Escovedo aka Sheila E and brother of Alejandro Escovedo, a Mexican-American musician.  Orchestra featuring Sheila E., Peter Michael and Juan Escovedo. General admission tickets are $30 with advance purchase ($45 at the gate,) and include seven wine tasting tickets, wine glass, program and opportunity to win a vacation in Costa Rica.

A portion of the festival proceeds will benefit Newhall Memorial, the Brenda Mehling Cancer Fund and the Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. It stretches through Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Its main population center is the city of Santa Clarita. The valley was part of the 48,612-acre (19,672.  Jaycees.
