Evergreen tree, usually decorated with lights and ornaments, to celebrate the Christmas season. The use of evergreen trees, wreaths, and garlands as symbols of eternal life was common among the ancient Egyptians, Chinese, and Hebrews.
 put out curbside this week in Lancaster, Palmdale and Quartz Hill will be ground up into mulch mulch, any material, usually organic, that is spread on the ground to protect the soil and the roots of plants from the effects of soil crusting, erosion, or freezing; it is also used to retard the growth of weeds.  for local parks and street landscaping.

Residents who are unable to place their trees out in time for the regular pickup day this week must cut them up into pieces and place them in trash containers, Waste Management officials said. Trees can also be cut up and placed in green waste containers.

Customers in Acton, Lake Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  and Littlerock can place their trees out with their regular trash for pickup until Jan. 14, but they won't be recycled.

Residents in those towns who would like to recycle their trees can take them to bins that will be out Friday through Monday.

For any customers who miss the curbside pickup and would still like to recycle their trees, bins will be located at Waste Management landfills at 1200 City Ranch Road in Palmdale and 600 E. Ave. F in Lancaster.

The Christmas tree mulch will be given to the cities of Palmdale and Lancaster for landscaping uses. Mulch will also be sent to an energy plant in Bakersfield. Last year, Waste Management collected more than 152 tons of Christmas trees in the Antelope Valley This article is about the Los Angeles County region.
