RECOVERING URICH WINDING UP CANCER TREATMENT.Byline: Marilyn Beck & Stacy Jenel Smith Six months after he was diagnosed with a rare form of joint cancer, Robert Urich Robert Urich (December 19, 1946 – April 16, 2002) was an actor, best known for playing private investigators on the television series (1985–1988) and Vega$ (1978–1981). He also starred in numerous other television series over the years including: S.W. is ``finally ready to go out and have a nice life, knowing I've done everything I can do.'' He completes two final sessions of chemotherapy next week, then will have ``five days of blood testing - and then my hair will start growing back and my life will be getting back to normal.'' Even now, he says, ``I'm swimming, my wife and I walk together every day. But I don't have the stamina I once had.'' Remarkably, through all the months of chemotherapy, he's continued to work. He's formed a software company that provides security for computers, has done several TV projects - and on Sunday tapes his first segment of the Disney ``Vital Signs'' program for ABC ABC in full American Broadcasting Co. Major U.S. television network. It began when the expanding national radio network NBC split into the separate Red and Blue networks in 1928. on which he will serve as host. He says of the latter, reality-based medical drama series, ``It's perfect for me. I'd like to do more shows like it. I only have to work about a day a week and have time to do other things.'' Urich says that other cancer victims have told him during his ordeal that ``it was one of the better things that happened to them. Now I get it. It's brought me and my wife closer. I appreciate each and every day.'' He does add that he will have to have a CAT scan CAT scan (kăt) [computerized axial tomography], X-ray technique that allows relatively safe, painless, and rapid diagnosis in previously inaccessible areas of the body; also called CT scan. every three months and says, ``I'll probably have to live with that for a long time.'' Young doctor in love ``ER's'' Noah Wyle is going to make someone pretty happy this Valentine's Day. Wyle was seen decorating a plate at a local Color Me Mine do-it-yourself ceramics studio the other day.
