RECOGNITION RECEIVES $8.6 MILLION ICR ORDER
DALLAS, Oct. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Recognition Equipment Incorporated

(Recognition) announced today the receipt of an approximately $8.6 million image character recognition (ICR) order from one of its international distributors for the company's Extended Data Recognition (XDR|TM~) product. The XDR product will be installed by the distributor with a major European customer. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in November 1992 and extend through November 1994.
The XDR unit is a unique combination of hardware and software which provides high quality image character recognition of handprinted and machine printed data for networked image processing systems. XDR will be used to read information from captured images of forms in a networked environment.
"We are encouraged by this significant order for one of our new ICR products released just last quarter," said Bob Vanourek, president and chief executive officer of Recognition. "We believe that this order is another validation of our new product strategy."
Recognition, headquartered in Dallas, manufactures, sells and services automated work processing systems for customers throughout the world.
Recognition is a registered trademark and XDR is a trademark of Recognition Equipment Incorporated.
