REASONABLE RATES FOR OUTRAGEOUS VACATIONS IN ICELAND
AND MORE OF EUROPE WITH ICELANDAIR
NEW YORK, Aug. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Icelandair offers unmatched value and many options to travelers this fall/winter season. The airline has varied trips to Iceland and has teamed up with tour operators to offer packages to the Swiss Alps, Paris, Germany and Copenhagen.
So much is possible only 4-1/2 hours away from New York. In Iceland, there are weekend specials, longer specials, skiing specials, and, as always, the stopover package that can be combined with trips to other European destinations.
Travelers interested in the tours should call Icelandair at 1-800-223-5500 or their travel agent. Regarding tours with the airline and outside tour operators, inquiries should be made by calling the numbers listed.
Icelandair offers travelers the chance to get away to Iceland for the weekend and up to five days with the "Adventure Program." Travelers base themselves in the capital, Reykjavik, explore the city, enjoy its fine restaurants that specialize in fresh seafood and mountain lamb dishes, visit museums, galleries and other cultural attractions, enjoy some of the best nightlife in Europe and take day trips to different regions of this intriguing country. The program starts at $599 for six nights and includes round-trip airfare, airport/hotel transfers, first- class accommodations, breakfast daily, discounts on rental cars, on domestic transportation, on certain bus tours as well as on cash purchases at certain shops.
For those who would like to be away during the week and get back home before the weekend, there's the "Iceland Special," which includes round-trip airfare, stay in a first-class hotel, breakfast daily, airport/hotel transfers, a city-sightseeing tour of Reykjavik and a traditional Icelandic lunch. Sightseers can rent a car for next to nothing and visit places independently. Other options are to fly to the north of the country or on any six air segments around the country. The package begins at $520.
Icelandair's "Fly/Drive" program combines airfare and car rental at prices starting from $455 for one week when two people are traveling together. Arrangements can be made through Icelandair's tour desk for stays at charming hotels, guesthouses, and farmhouses.
Not only does Iceland have spectacular waterfalls, geysers, glaciers, hot springs and fjords, it also has several great slopes for skiers. Icelandair's "Ski Iceland" program is based in Reykjavik and includes special round-trip airfare and land rates, airport/hotel transfers, breakfast daily, a city sightseeing tour, bus transfers to the slopes and discounts on Reykjavik excursion day bus trips. This trip can be combined with skiing in the north near Akureyri. The package itself can be combined with any airfare into Europe and is also great to combine with any of Icelandair's packages in the Alps. The price starts at $539.
Angersbach Tours in conjunction with Icelandair offers a "Ski the Alps" program for as low as $599 that includes round-trip airfare, hotel and breakfasts, six nights in Interlocken with a car and more. Also offered is the one-week "Winter Wonderland" trip to Switzerland and Germany for $999. It includes round-trip airfare, motorcoach, hotel stays with bath, breakfast daily, some dinners, and sightseeing. Similar inclusions are in the one-week trip to Paris in the fall for only $999. Travelers for these trips should call 1-800-526-2358.
Icelandair is giving travelers the chance to see still another part of the world in a weekend trip to Copenhagen with Travel Bound. The two-night package that includes round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations, breakfast and more, comes to $449, and the three-night package comes to $499. Those interested should call 1-800-456-8656. In New York City, call 212-226-8209.
The great news is that with these packages, travelers can stop in Iceland -- no extra airfare! And it's always possible to see Iceland reasonably through Icelandair's stopover packages that during the fall/winter season start at $62 for one night and a $133 for three nights.
Icelandair departs from three gateways on the United States: New York's John F. Kennedy International, Baltimore-Washington International, and Orlando International airports. The airline has the youngest fleet in the skies and offers comfortable and convenient travel, whether in the main cabin or Saga Business Class.
