The Antelope Valley
 Association of Realtors announced recipients of the organization's 2003 scholarship awards.

This year's awards total more than $12,000, bringing the total amount granted since the program's inception in 2001 to more than $25,000.

Each recipient is either the child or grandchild of a Greater Antelope Valley Association of Realtors member.

Scholarships were awarded to Megan Benson, daughter of Ralph and Jerry Perry, who is attending California State University, Northridge CSUN offers a variety of programs leading to bachelor's degrees in 61 fields and master's degrees in 42 fields. The university has over 150,000 alumni. It's also home to a summer musical theater/theater program known as TADW (TeenAge Drama Workshop) that leads teenagers through an , with a major in marketing; Erin Anne Chapman Anne Chapman (born 1922) is a Franco-American ethnologist. She has studied the Mesoamerican civilizations and especially the Tolupan (Jicaque) people of Honduras. She has also visited Magallanes and Tierra del Fuego many times, since 1965, to study the Fuegian peoples in depth, , daughter of Jason and Anne Chapman, who is attending the University of California, Riverside The University of California, Riverside, commonly known as UCR or UC Riverside, is a public research university and one of ten campuses of the University of California system. , as a history major; Brian Coltin, son of Larry and Janet Coltin, who is attending California Lutheran University Mission statement
The University's mission statement is as follows:

"California Lutheran University is a diverse, scholarly community dedicated to excellence in the liberal arts and professional studies.
 with an interest in political science, business and law; and Shannon DeGroff, daughter of James and Gail DeGroff, who is attending UC San Diego with pre-med studies leading to her goal of becoming a pediatrician.

Also receiving awards were Amanda Eastman, daughter of Donald and Christina Eastman, who is attending UC Irvine as she works toward a teaching credential; Barbara Hooker, daughter of Leslie and Gale Harris, who is attending Antelope Valley College Antelope Valley College is a comprehensive community college located in Lancaster, California, USA. It is operated by the Antelope Valley Community College District, with a primary service area of 1,945 square miles covering portions of Los Angeles and Kern counties.  to study criminal law; Kristina Overton, daughter of Don and Kathy Overton, who is attending Cal State Long Beach with a major in biology; Levi Patrick, son of Keith and Deborah Patrick, who is attending Oklahoma State University Oklahoma State University, at Stillwater; land-grant and state supported; coeducational; chartered 1890, opened 1891 as Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College, renamed 1957.  to study math education with an eye on becoming a high school teacher; and Amy Schlipf, daughter of Edward and Peggy Schlipf, who is attending UC Davis majoring in science.

Additional awards were granted to Janis Stickel, daughter of Mike and Leslie Stickel, who is attending Antelope Valley College to study biology; Simone Topel, daughter of Keith and Kerry Topel, who is attending Cal State Northridge, majoring in psychology; and Cedric Winton, son of Elizabeth Prince-Winton, who is going to Florida A&M to study education administration.

Some 1,200 local real estate professionals comprise the Greater Antelope Valley Association of Realtors.
