They are a Class-A Advanced team in the California League, and are a farm team of the Boston Red Sox. hand out Chuck Yeager The first 1,500 fans through the Clear Channel Stadium gates will each receive a free Yeager bobblehead doll that depicts him holding a miniature version of the Bell X-1 that he flew through the sound barrier in 1947 at what is now Edwards Air Force Base Edwards Air Force Base, U.S. military installation, 301,000 acres (121,805 hectares), S Calif., NE of Lancaster; est. 1933. It is one of the largest air force bases in the United States and has the world's longest runway. . ``He's a true legend, and we were very thrilled that he agreed to be part of this night because he is such a revered figure in aviation history,'' said Jeff Lasky, JetHawks director of broadcast and media relations. ``We have had several folks call in and ask how early they need to get there to get a doll.'' Yeager, 83, will not be at the game but has given his approval to the doll. ``He has been very much involved, even though he will not be attending,'' Lasky said. Pre-game activities will include a video tribute to Yeager as well as a flyover by two F-16 fighter jets after the national anthem.
