REA GOLD CORP., BMR GOLD CORP. CONTINUE EXCELLENT GOLD INTERSECTIONS RETURNED FROM DRILLING ON SOUTH COMSTOCK JOINT VENTURE, NEVADA

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, May 25 /PRNewswire/ -- W. James Hogan, president and chief executive officer of Rea Gold Corp. (Vancouver, Toronto: REO), and Frank Varseveld, president and chief executive Officer of BMR Gold Corp. (Toronto: BLG), announced all of the gold and silver assay results received on the recent RC Drilling Program on the South Comstock Joint Venture, Nevada (Hole No. 204 - 70 Ft. at 0.044 opt Au, Hole No. 213A - 70 Ft. at 0.093 opt Au, Hole No. 203 - 10 Ft. at 0.276 opt Au; previously reported holes include Hole No. 210 - 125 Ft. at 0.103 opt Au, Hole No. 211 - 90 Ft. at 0.057 opt Au and Hole No. 201 - 15 Ft. at 0.197 opt Au), a 50/50 joint venture with BMR Gold Corp.
The initial positive drilling results including Holes 201, 210, and 211 were reported in a press release dated May 10, 1993. This drilling program, totalling 3,700 feet over 15 reverse circulation/ rotary drill holes, was completed on May 5, 1993. Nine holes tested for an eastward extension of the Lucerne gold deposit, 4 holes were twinned in the proposed higher-grade "South Starter Zone" open pit for grade confirmation purposes, and 2 holes were done in two separate locations to define waste disposal areas.
The primary objective, to extend the Lucerne gold depsoit to the east, was very successful. Out of nine holes drilled to test the easterly dipping extension six returned significant intersections of gold mineralization. In many of the drill holes multiple zones of gold mineralization were defined. The eastern extension of the Lucerne gold deposit was defined for more than 800 feet of north- south and strike length and the deposit remains open to the east.
On the southern portion of the Lucerne deposit, Hole 213A returned 70 feet grading 0.093 opt gold and 0.57 opt silver and indicates a possible major southern extension. More drilling in this area is required to define the geometry and grade of the gold mineralization.
The results from this drilling program will be used in calculating a new mineable reserve. It is concluded that this program has significantly increased the current open pit mineable reserves, of 2.9 million tons grading 0.049 opt gold, for the Lucerne and BTK deposits which could further reduce mining costs as a result of reducing the stripping ratio.
Commercial mining operations for the Lucerne deposit are scheduled to commence on or before August 1993.
