RE/MAX juggernaut rolling into New York.

Franchise sales for global real estate franchisor, RE/MAX International and its New York affiliate RE/ MAX of New York, Inc. are ahead of projections for 2006.

Both organizations have experienced record growth during the first half year of sales. RE/MAX International sales figures were 1.8% stronger than the same time period in 2005, according to statistics analyzed at the end of June.

RE/MAX of New York, Inc. is also experiencing significant growth, with franchise sales figures at 40% greater than for the same period last year.

A total of 451 new franchises were sold by midyear compared to 443 for 2005 setting a new record for first half of the year sales. RE/MAX of New York, Inc. was one of the leading regions with 23 franchises sold. Other areas of the United States showed strong growth, including the Carolinas with 21 completed sales, Texas 18, California/Hawaii 17 and the Central Atlantic region 23.

"We are rapidly expanding in existing markets and entering many new areas across the state," said Henry Weber, president and regional director of RE/ MAX of NEW York, Inc.

"This year we have seen strong growth on Long Island and in New York City. New York City is a market with great potential for us, and we are looking to open many locations in this market in the coming months.

"RE/MAX is the home of the industry's most experienced agents, and as we open new offices these professionals are seeking us out to become part of our network. Our agent growth is also very strong, and we will surpass 2000 professionals in the next few months."

RE/MAX of New York, Inc. has a sales force of more than 1,900 agents and 135 offices throughout New York. RE/MAX agents in New York generated over $12.9 billion in sales since 2003 and completed more than 90,000 transactions.
