The winner's share of the $1.7 million purse for the 2006 CN Canadian Women's Open will be $255,000 (US), up from $195,000 in 2005. Founded in 1885, the London Hunt and Country Club will play host to the LPGA Tour for the second time in 2006. In 1993 Americans Brandie Burton and Betsy King battled in a playoff, with Burton proving victorious. Canadian Dawn Coe-Jones finished third, only one shot back.
