), a software and intellectual property licensing company, today announced it will work with Microsoft and offer new add-on products to enable the digital recording of CDs into the MP3 format in the Windows Media Player for Windows XP.

Using RAVISENT's forthcoming MP3 Creation Pack for Windows XP, users of Windows Media Player for Windows XP will now have the full flexibility of choice for creating their music collections, whether it is using the Windows Media Audio See Windows Media formats.  format (WMA (Windows Media Audio) An audio compression method from Microsoft. Windows XP takes the digital music experience to an entirely new level for MP3 users. Windows XP offers integrated MP3 playback and management, the ability to edit MP3 information directly in the Windows shell An add-on user interface for Windows. Numerous shells were created for Windows 3.x to streamline or replace Program Manager by providing such features as foldering, customized toolbars and quick access to the DOS command line. For example, Norton Desktop for Windows was popular. , transfer of MP3 music to portable devices, creation of audio CDs (CD burning) of MP3 files, and many more features.

Windows Media Player for Windows XP also introduces support for MP3 encoding and DVD playback via an MP3 and DVD plug-in architecture, enabling developers and computer makers to add MP3 encoding and DVD playback capabilities directly to the player. RAVISENT MP3 and CineMaster DVD technology will use this new plug-in innovation to offer new add-on products specifically for Windows XP users.

RAVISENT will offer for download via the web a "MP3 Creation Pack for Windows XP" and a "DVD Decoder Pack for Windows XP". Windows XP users will be able to order and download the RAVISENT software from the company's Web site via links inside Windows Media Player for Windows XP.

The add-on packs for Windows XP can each be purchased either separately or together and should be available for download by October 25th.
