RAUDIN Announces the Discovery of Two New Copper-Silver Mineralized Zones on its Mont-Alexandre Project in Gaspe.

MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 20, 1997-- (ME RAU. ) RAUDIN Exploration Inc. is proud to announce the discovery of two new copper-silver mineralized min·er·al·ize

zones on its Vondenbleu property from the Mont-Alexandre project in Gaspe, following the digging of trenches on geological targets.

Two other mineralized zones, each of several hundred metres long, were discovered through trenches dug during the summer. The first zone associated with the main occurrence was followed on more than 300 metres. With a channel sampling it has given grades up to 2,2 percent Cu and 4,6g/t Ag over 1,5 metre and an average grade of 1,63 percent Cu and 3,55 g/t Ag on 5,4 metres.

A channel sampling made across the mineralized Zone No.3, recently discovered, has given an average grade of 2,74 percent Cu and 8,68 g/t Ag over 2,5 metres including 4,5 percent Cu and 14,0 g/t Ag over 0,5 m as well as 8,8 percent Cu and 28,8 g/t Ag over 0,5m. The lava flow, which is about 8 metres thick, is stratigraphically situated about 10 metres under the mineralized Zone No.1. Samples taken randomly in the mineralized zone outside the channel sampling have given 17,2 percent Cu and 57 g/t Ag. The extension of this zone is limited to the East but remains open at depth and to the West.

The mineralized Zone No.4, stratigraphically situated a couple metres under the mineralized Zone No.3, is, like the Zone No.1 composed of "White Pine type" volcanic sediments layers mineralized with chalcocite chalcocite

Sulfide mineral, Cu2S, that may be an important ore of copper. It belongs to a group of sulfide minerals formed at relatively low temperatures. Chalcocite alters to native copper and other copper minerals.
and malachite malachite (măl`əkīt), a mineral, the green basic carbonate of copper occurring in crystals of the monoclinic system or (more usually) in masses. It is translucent or opaque; the luster is silky, vitreous, adamantine, or dull. . At the present time the zone can be followed on surface over more than 250 m and its width varies from 0,5m to 25m. Samples taken randomly at different places of the mineralized zone have given values ranging from 0,04 percent on the gangue gangue also gang

Assays were made by atomic absorption in the Chimitec-Bondar-Clegg laboratory in Val-d'Or. Samples of native copper will be sent very soon to the Lakefield laboratory in Ontario.

Encouraged by these promising results, Raudin has undertaken an aggressive drilling campaign oriented o·ri·ent
