The JetHawks were unbeaten in seven games on the road against Rancho Cucamonga going into Tuesday's matchup and were quite comfortable putting that streak on the line with one of the hottest pitchers in the minor leagues starting for them.

But staff ace Enrique Gonzalez and the JetHawks' surprising 5-3 loss to the Quakes in front of 4,407 at the Epicenter was overshadowed by the light-hitting Biguenet's stunning power surge An oversupply of voltage from the power company that can last up to 50 microseconds. Although surges are very short in duration, they often reach 6,000 volts and 3,000 amps when they arrive at the equipment. Power surges are a common cause of damage to computers and electronic equipment. .

Biguenet had a career game Tuesday, going 2 for 3 with a triple and a homer, but it wasn't enough to save the JetHawks.

Gonzalez (12-6) allowed five runs (all earned) on 10 hits in seven innings as he lost for the first time in 10 starts going back to June 25. He struck out five and allowed no walks.

A converted reliever, Gonzalez was 9-1 with a 1.86 ERA in 11 starts going back to June 15 and was 4-0 with an 0.53 ERA over his previous five starts. He hadn't allowed more than four earned runs in 12 starts going back to June 9, when he allowed seven in 4 1/3 innings.

The JetHawks threatened in the ninth when Daniel Tosca and Sean Luellwitz led off the inning with consecutive singles, but Quakes reliever Von Sterzbach induced pinch hitter pinch-hit
