A Jewish day school is a modern Jewish educational institution that is designed to provide Jewish children with both a Jewish and a secular education in one
to build a permanent campus and expand the 4-year-old program.

The elementary school elementary school: see school.  operates out of Foursquare Church in Agoura Hills, where it leases space, nestled among trees and hills.

``It's a beautiful, rustic environment, but it's not our own site,'' said Leora Langberg, board president. ``This is a dream we've had since we opened in 2001.''

The school, with roughly 70 pupils enrolled, integrates general and Judaic studies and draws students from as far west as Ventura and as far east as North Hollywood.

Organizers will be selling 18,000 raffle tickets through Jan. 30 in hopes of raising up to $2 million for a K-12 campus.

The winner of the drawing will have the option of receiving a $1 million cash prize. Participants also will have the chance to win one of several other cash prizes, including $50,000 and $25,000.

An early-bird raffle is planned for December for those who purchase their tickets before Nov. 30, with prizes ranging from $300 to $30,000.

``They have a one in 100 chance of at least doubling their money,'' Langberg added.

The top prize - a remodeled two-story, five-bedroom home with a pool - is being donated by a man who wishes to remain anonymous. The location of the home is not being revealed.

``The focus should be on the event itself - to help build the school, and make it a reality,'' he said. ``The objective is to involve the community. We are in a time when we are only going to be successful when we are collectively working together.''

School officials are not yet putting a dollar value on the cost of buying land and constructing a new campus, and are not sure when they'll be breaking ground.

``This will certainly give us the seed money,'' said Rabbi Reuven Tombosky, executive director of the school. ``This raffle offers a way to make a meaningful impact on a child's education while also offering the participant a chance to win a million-dollar house or many, many other cash prizes.''
