iVIEW VCS Now Features Optional Module for Scheduling Through Outlook Calendar Functionality; Delivers Unprecedented Ease-of-Use in Control and Scheduling of Voice, Video and Data Calls

RADVISION (Nasdaq: RVSN) today announced complete Microsoft(R) Outlook(R) Calendar Scheduling functionality, as an optional add-on module, for its iVIEW VCS (Video Communications Scheduler), an easy-to-use, feature-rich end-user call management tool to schedule and manage calls and resources within an organization. Users can now schedule and control a voice, video, or data session by either clicking on a special tab when setting up a meeting using Microsoft Office's Outlook calendar or through a Web interface provided by the iVIEW VCS solution.

The Microsoft Windows(R) 2000-based iVIEW VCS server application simplifies scheduling, resolves conflicts, and ensures that necessary resources will be available for meetings. It is fully integrated with the RADVISION viaIP(TM) and INVISION(TM) networking product families for converged IP communications. The optional module for Microsoft Outlook integration runs on a Microsoft Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server and is accessible by end users who use Microsoft Outlook 2000 (with Service Pack 3) or Microsoft XP as their desktop operating system.

By simplifying the scheduling flow, the iVIEW VCS makes putting together visual collaboration sessions as easy as scheduling any other meeting. Attendee, room, and audio/video endpoint availability can be checked while scheduling, and any conflicts are automatically reported when a reservation is made. At the same time, an email is generated notifying all participants of the conference details. Participants have the opportunity to accept, decline or request a change.

Focus on the Experience and not the Devices

When conference time arrives, quick email links launch the control panel window allowing the controller to dynamically add new participants, disconnect or reconnect endpoints, change screen layouts, and extend the conference regardless of which Multipoint Conferencing Unit or MCU is involved. iVIEW VCS Service Templates allow administrators to define the services offered to users. By selecting bandwidth, continuous presence, data conferencing and other settings, administrators can remove technical barriers and have better control over the network.

Resource and Capacity Management for Quality Conferencing.

iVIEW VCS network mapping defines physical network topology including devices, network connections, and bandwidth available for video conferencing. This information is used to simulate traffic flows, device usage, and bandwidth consumption at any given moment on the network, ensuring that all the necessary resources are available for any given conference at the scheduled time. The VCS then allocates the most appropriate MCU and Gateway resources for the conference based on MCU capability, delay, bandwidth, and terminal distribution automatically cascading MCUs when necessary.
