MOSCOW, June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Radisson Hotels International, which pioneered the American hotel industry in Russia and the former Soviet Union with its Radisson Slavjanskaya Hotel in Moscow, today announced the first American-managed resort in Russia -- a new 300-room Radisson resort to open later this year in the Black Sea city of Sochi, Russia.
The new Radisson Lazurnaya Hotel Sochi, which will introduce American hotel management expertise in the Russian leisure travel market will offer Western style resort amenities and accommodations plus Radisson's distinctive "Yes I Can" hospitality services. This important new development in the Russian travel industry was announced at special news conferences in Sochi and Moscow, by John Norlander, president of Radisson Hotel Corporation who was joined by Russian business, tourism and governmental officials.
"Based on the outstanding success of the Radisson Hotel project in Moscow, which opened in June 1991, we are very pleased to now expand our operations in Russia with this key resort location," Norlander said.
"This project further solidifies Radisson's important relationship with Russia in the development of the country's hospitality industry as we introduce American style service and hotel standards into another new region of Russia," he added. "We expect to expand with additional Radisson Hotel projects in Russia, other countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States and Eastern Europe," Norlander said.
This new 25-story Radisson Hotel is located in the prime recreational and cultural district of Sochi which is an important national resort and spa region on the northeast coast of the Black Sea.
