What: Ken's back! KABC KABC Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children  morning veteran Ken Minyard Ken Minyard (born in 1940) is a radio personality, best remembered to be a partner on the radio with Robert Arthur. In 1988, he made a guest appearance on the television show Married with Children. On October 15 2006, after thirty-five years of being on the radio, retired.  heads up a team that includes ex-KFWB newsman Dan Avey Dan Avey is a radio personality who had worked for stations KIWZ, KFWB, and KFI. He is now working for the news on KABC in the afternoon.

Off the air: Minyard, a voracious reader and movie fan, spends his down time on his yacht. Avey, who lives in Sherman Oaks, coaches kids' basketball and soccer.

Background: After more than 25 years at KABC, Minyard launched a call-in show with his son, Rick, on the old KRLA until summer 2000. Avey won 11 Golden Mike awards during his time at KFWB-AM (980). The two have been pals for 20 years.

Taking a stand: ``The humor flows from the news, but we also look for the interesting stories that often get overlooked,'' Avey said. ``The show gives us a chance to do on the air what we do when we get together socially.''

What happened to Dave and Amy: The previous KABC morning duo is off the air.
