R.R. DONNELLEY OPENS FULL-SERVICE COMPUTER
DOCUMENTATION MODULE IN SILICON VALLEY
CHICAGO, Nov. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- R.R. Donnelley and Sons Company (NYSE: DNY), the world's largest provider of printing and related services, announced today that it has opened a new computer documentation module in Fremont, Calif., offering software publishers and hardware manufacturers such services as diskette and tape replication, package assembly and inventory management in addition to its worldwide manufacturing and distribution network.
"The Fremont module solidifies our position in the Silicon Valley," said W. Ed Tyler, president of R.R. Donnelley's Documentation Services Group. "We want to demonstrate our commitment to Bay-area computer companies that have needs for global, turnkey documentation services."
R.R. Donnelley employs nearly 100 people in the new, 97,000-square- foot building at 44250 Osgood Road. The operation was expanded from a 34,000-square-foot tape duplication facility that previously had operated in San Jose, Calif.
R.R. Donnelley operates other facilities in Los Angeles and Sunnyvale, Calif.; Crawfordsville, Ind.; Hudson, Mass.; Willard, Ohio; Portland, Ore.; Thorp Arch, England; Dublin and Kildare, Ireland; and Singapore. In addition to computer documentation, it is the world's foremost printer of catalogs, newspaper advertising inserts, magazines, books, directories and financial printing.
