R/GA Designs Website for World Trade Center Site Memorial Competition.
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 28, 2003
R/GA, the interactive agency, designed and developed the Web site, www.wtcsitememorial.org, that was launched today by the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation (LMDC) and will be used to administer the World Trade Center Site Memorial competition.
LMDC's open, international competition will lead to the selection of a memorial design that will be located at the World Trade Center site and honor those lost in the September 11th attacks and the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center.
The website will be the main source of information for the competition enabling individuals from around the world to register and to obtain the official competition guidelines.
"We are honored to be included in the project and in some small way contribute to the ultimate rebuilding of lower Manhattan," says Bob Greenberg, Founder, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of R/GA. "It is especially meaningful for R/GA since we are located in New York City and the importance of design has always been central to the company."
R/GA is also developing the computational infrastructure for the competition that will facilitate the categorization of the entries. The software tool plays an important role in identifying and tracking the numerous documents involved with each entrant.
