Quovadx Executives to Share Technological and Clinical Expertise at HIMSS 2006.

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. -- Rey Currie to Share Strategies to Extend Standards-Based Interoperability Across the Healthcare Enterprise; Barbara Doyle to Address Nursing Outcomes at Society for Health Systems Conference

HIMSS 2006 will be held at the San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, California, from February 12-16, 2006. SHS will immediately precede HIMSS at the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina from February 10-12, 2006.

Rey Currie, vice president, product management for the Integration Solutions division (ISD) of Quovadx, will discuss how legacy applications can be enabled to interoperate leveraging the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) framework. Currie will examine how Cloverleaf(R) Integration Suite from Quovadx utilizes standards-based interoperability, secure based messaging and transaction logging for IHE sites to accomplish this goal. Currie's remarks will be part of the Interoperability Showcase at HIMSS, which features cutting-edge interoperability technology and standards in an interactive environment.

Doyle will examine the measurement of nurse sensitive indicators such as post-operative infection, shock and cardiac arrest, among others, with a focus on inpatient pneumonia. Attendees will learn about the impact of these complications on patient flow and resource utilization, including compliance with Core Measure indicators, with an eye toward learning where clinicians can work to decrease the overall incidence of complications. The CareScience Quality Manager solution was used as a resource for the analysis.
