QuickBooks: Pro 2006 for Mac Tackles Time-Intensive Tasks; Latest Version Responds to Customer Requests for Online Payroll and Statement Import; Adds Contact Features.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq:INTU) today announced the upcoming release of a new version of its highly successful QuickBooks(R) program for the Mac, built to run on Apple's Mac OS X version 10.4 "Tiger."

QuickBooks: Pro 2006 for Mac uses the power of Tiger to introduce a host of tools that simplify time-intensive tasks. It enables Mac small business customers to import downloaded bank and credit card transactions into QuickBooks without typing, to automatically synchronize business contact information and to manage payroll from QuickBooks or any Web browser at anytime, from anywhere.

"Customer input drove the significant new features in QuickBooks: Pro 2006 for Mac," said Anouk Holleran, business leader for Intuit's Macintosh products unit. "More than 70 percent of our customers wanted a way to import and export contact information between QuickBooks and their address books. And a majority of our payroll customers requested an integrated do-it-yourself payroll solution. We delivered that and more."

Helping Businesses Save Time and Money

The tools included in QuickBooks: Pro 2006 for Mac are designed to help small businesses save time with features that enable them to:

A[micro]   --  Quickly Import Bank and Credit Card Transactions: Small
        business owners can save time and avoid data-entry errors by
        importing bank and credit card statements they have downloaded
        from participating financial institutions. Downloaded
        transactions can easily be added into QuickBooks and matched
        against the register to avoid duplication. QuickBooks can
        import statements from the more than 1,000 financial
        institutions supported by WebConnect.

A[micro]       These features are in response to requests from QuickBooks
        for Mac customers, two thirds of whom asked for a way to
        import bank and credit card transactions into QuickBooks.

A[micro]       "Great strides have been made by adding the download banking
        and online payroll to QuickBooks," said Mike Zimmer,
        administrator of a non-profit organization in Perris, Calif.
        "Now there is another great reason to use Mac."

A[micro]   --  Easily Manage Payroll: Small business owners now have a choice
        in payroll services -- QuickBooks Payroll for Mac or Aatrix
        Top Pay.

A[micro]       QuickBooks Payroll for Mac, powered by PayCycle, Inc., is an
        integrated online service that enables a business to
        accurately run its own payroll directly from QuickBooks --
        everything from paychecks to tax forms and W-2s. Users can
        print paychecks on their office printer or use direct deposit,
        and one click enters all the payroll details into the
        QuickBooks register. The Payroll for Mac service, available
        for a 30-day free trial, requires a monthly service fee, which
        includes customer support, direct deposit and electronic tax
        payments and filings.

A[micro]       QuickBooks also continues to work with the Aatrix Top Pay
        payroll service. Its software is not included and requires a
        service fee.

A[micro]       "QuickBooks Payroll for Mac was very easy to set up," said
        Gary Parks, principal of a property management company in Las
        Vegas, Nev., after trying an early version of the product. "I
        liked the 'to-do lists,' which save me a lot of time. The
        service provided information I needed to deal with all the
        various payroll requirements."

A[micro]   --  Automatically Synchronize Contact Information: QuickBooks
        Contact Sync works with Tiger to automatically synchronize
        selected business contacts between QuickBooks, Mac OSX Address
        Book, iSync 2.1-compatible mobile phones and PDAs and all
        other applications and devices that support Sync Services.
        When entries are added or changed, the data is automatically
        updated in multiple places, making the latest contact
        information available when and where the user needs it.

QuickBooks: Pro 2006 for Mac is available for a suggested retail price of $199.95 and includes free callback support for 30 consecutive days after product registration, subject to conditions.
