Questel-Orbit Announces 2002 Official Results.

Business Editors

MCLEAN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 8, 2003

Questel-Orbit continued to underscore its 2002 strategy,

which is centered on the online distribution of

intellectual property information

Despite the past year's weak economy, Questel Orbit's performance figures remained healthy. The company invested steadily in R&D projects and deployed nearly one third of its staff to new programs that are geared as much to pushing new technology as to new content. Both moves have led to significant growth in the company's share of the patent market.

Highlights of the Questel-Orbit's accomplishments in 2002 include:

-- Worldwide success of the company's proprietary database

PlusPat.

-- Developments in the full-text collection and patent document

delivery service.

-- Launch of information in XML XML
 in full Extensible Markup Language.

Markup language developed to be a simplified and more structural version of SGML. It incorporates features of HTML (e.g., hypertext linking), but is designed to overcome some of HTML's limitations.
 format.

-- Expansion of the trademark line to include Internet domain

names.

-- A new partnership agreement with PATOLIS PATOLIS Patent Online Information System , a patent information

provider based in Japan.

-- Major redesign and upgrades in QPAT QPAT Quebec Provincial Association of Teachers (Quebec, Canada)  that have turned the first

end user online patent search tool into an integrated service

that lets users of all levels search for patent information,

as well as order and distribute patent copies and present

search results in report format.

Operating results turned in significant growth of US$1.45M, almost 7% of revenues. These results followed at the heels of 2001's net income balance, the first in the company's history. During its meeting on March 21, 2003, the Shareholders Assembly decided on an equal allotment of 2002 results between equity increase and dividends. Not to be outdone out·do
