Quest Software Releases Toad for Oracle Version 9.0.

New Release Offers Developers, DBAs and Analysts Increased Automation and Improved Reporting

SAN FRANCISCO -- Quest Software, Inc. (Nasdaq:QSFT) today announced the release of version 9.0 of its award-winning Toad[TM] for Oracle. Toad 9.0 for Oracle enables developers to implement database development best practices (see related release) through increased automation and reporting, ensuring application code is of the highest quality and performance prior to deployment. The newest version provides high-level reports that help developers, database administrators (DBAs), analysts and IT management objectively verify coding practices and standards, as well as automating code reviews, SQL optimization and scalability QA testing.

Toad for Oracle 9.0 has many enhanced capabilities, including:

* Reporting - provides IT management with detailed insight into development practices through customizable reports that document team code quality.

* Code Xpert and Code Quality Repository - enable SQL development best practices through automated code reviews to ensure the highest code quality.

* Integrated Editors - simplify coding and increase productivity through a new single editor for application and database code with the ability to work offline.

Quest also announced the release of three additional tools in the Toad Suite of products: Toad Data Modeler, Benchmark Factory([R]) 5.0 for Databases and the Quest Code Tester.

* Toad Data Modeler - enables designers, developers and DBAs to easily create and maintain database structures across more than 20 database platforms by building entity relationship diagrams, generating SQL (DDL) scripts, reverse engineering databases, generating detailed HTML and RTF documentation, building data flow diagrams, and exporting to XML and other popular formats.

* Benchmark Factory - allows organizations to validate database performance and scalability as user loads increase, application changes are made and platform changes are implemented. The 5.0 release includes enhanced Oracle RAC scalability testing, new stored procedure scalability testing, advanced benchmark object creation, reporting enhancements and support for the TPC-H standard benchmark.

* Quest Code Tester - constructs comprehensive regression tests easily and quickly for PL/SQL programs, dramatically improving the quality and maintainability of applications.

Toad for Oracle version 9.0 is being unveiled at the same time as Toad World, Quest's newest online portal for Toad users.
