IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 29, 2003

FastLane(R) Consolidator 4.0 Helps Windows Administrators Plan, Deploy

and Manage Storage Resources

Quest Software The computer-software manufacturer Quest Software (Quest Software, Inc.) (NASDAQ: QSFT), headquartered in Aliso Viejo, California, dates from 1987. Quest develops, sells, and supports database management, Windows management, and application management software products , Inc. (Nasdaq:QSFT), a leading provider of application management solutions, today announced the release of FastLane(R) Consolidator version 4.0, for Windows data and security migration. FastLane Consolidator facilitates server consolidation on the Windows platform by providing a new built-in storage analyzer component that provides Windows administrators with the detailed storage metrics they need to plan and perform consolidation projects. The storage analyzer also helps companies optimize the use of their storage resources, saving thousands of dollars and reducing storage management costs almost immediately.

The addition of the storage analyzer component enables FastLane Consolidator to add value in all phases of a consolidation project -- from planning to consolidation to ongoing data management. Prior to consolidation, FastLane Consolidator 4.0 collects storage metrics on areas of interest such as servers, volumes, shares, printers and files. Administrators can then generate and view more than 35 pre-defined reports from their Web browser The program that serves as your front end to the Web on the Internet. In order to view a site, you type its address (URL) into the browser's Location field; for example, www.computerlanguage.com, and the home page of that site is downloaded to you. . Once a report is compiled, the administrator can take action directly from that report to recover wasted disk space attributed to unused, duplicate or inappropriate data, or rapidly create data migration projects.

"We are very pleased with the performance of FastLane Consolidator in our environment," said Jeff Baggs, manager, Operations and Capacity Planning Determining the required future configuration of hardware and software for a network, datacenter or Web site.
