Querisoft Releases SecureFile v1.0 - A Complete Desktop and Internet Security Product for Privacy, Integrity, and Authentication Integration with Leading Edge Technologies from Spyrus, Trusted Information Systems, and VeriSign Provides Access to a Wide Variety of Markets.

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 14, 1997--Querisoft(TM), Inc., an Atlanta based Internet Security software firm, today announced the general availability of SecureFile(TM) v1.0, the first application built on Microsoft's CryptoAPI (CAPI) technology. SecureFile is a complete desktop and Internet security product that seamlessly integrates into Microsoft(R) Windows platforms. Its one-click approach to privacy, integrity, and authenticity of information provides a simple mechanism to encrypt and/or digitally sign legal, medical, insurance, and other sensitive documents.

Using SecureFile, personal documents can be protected by "dragging and dropping" them on the SecureFolder(TM) icon created on the desktop. Documents can also be secured for additional users and exchanged securely over the Internet using any email client. Integration with Microsoft Office 97 allows all document security operations to be performed from within Word or Excel. A Wizard guides novice users in securing documents residing on several disks or on the network, while allowing expert users to override default settings. A built-in Certificate Manager allows import/export of X.509 v3 certificates including industry leading VeriSign Digital IDsSM.

Support for VeriSign Digital IDs has for the first time allowed users to exchange their Digital IDs with one another. This not only facilitates secure exchange of information over the Internet, but also does so using a trusted third party, in this case, VeriSign.

SecureFile is also being integrated with the SPYRUS LYNKS Privacy Card(TM) and the SPYRUS LYNKS Fortezza(R) card family of cryptographic hardware tokens to address the need of commercial and federal markets that require hardware based solutions.
