Queen's to 'spar' with Cambridge boat crew.
TOP rowers from Queen's University are to test their strength against world-class champions Cambridge University.
The Northern Ireland team are to act as sparring partners for the famous English university as they prepare for their annual Boat Race.
Tomorrow Queens' 1st VIII will take on the might of Cambridge's Goldie, or second, crew in a practice match. Both teams will carry out various starts and "bursts" around some of the famous bends on the River Thames.
Head coach Mark Fangen Hall said the race is a window of opportunity for Queen's University Rowing Club.
He added: "I am very happy that our athletes will row against athletes from the CUBC.
"This will show us where we stand in terms of world class performances."
