HUDSON, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 13, 2003

Complements ThinQ(TM) brand of high-performance models

for serial-to-Ethernet solutions

Quatech, a world-class manufacturer of reliable serial connectivity solutions, announces new additions to their line of serial device servers, including the versatile yet budget-friendly SSE-410D. This new value-priced offering, combined with their industry-leading ThinQ models, gives Quatech a complete range of qualified solutions for serial-to-Ethernet applications.

"With a list price of $189, Quatech's new SSE-410D is a better value, feature-for-feature, than any other comparably-priced serial device server on the market," said Steve Runkel, Quatech's President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. . "It is an outgrowth of our core business philosophy of providing Quatech customers with the best values in the industry -- attractively priced products with the features they need, the quality and reliability they expect, and the service and support they deserve."

The SSE-410D meets the specifications required to support a large number of serial device-to-network applications. It is switch-selectable for RS-232, 422 & 485, and supports baud rates A redundant reference to baud. Baud is a rate.

Quatech is also pleased to announce the availability of the SSE-200/300D, a new addition to their flagship ThinQ(TM) line of serial device servers. This RS-422/485-to-Ethernet single-port serial device server supports baud rates up to 921K and can be configured for either RS-422 or RS-485 communication, in full-duplex or half-duplex, 2-wire or 4-wire modes. Like the rest of the ThinQ line, it is based on reliable Motorola(R) digital dna(TM) technology and uses a robust PowerPC(R) processor. ThinQ products also ship with IntelliSock(TM), the most flexible and powerful TCP (1) (Transmission Control Protocol) The reliable transport protocol within the TCP/IP protocol suite. These two feature enhancements will greatly extend the number of systems in which ThinQ can be employed, and provide much greater flexibility in the network management of serial devices.
