Quantum Data Showcases HDMI Testing Equipment at CES Show.

ELGIN, Ill. -- Quantum Data[TM] (http://www.quantumdata.com), a worldwide provider of test equipment used to identify and help solve interoperability problems between audio/visual products, will showcase its new Model 882E generator with HDMI 1.3 deep color support at the CES Show, Booth 25911 in the HDMI TechZone. Other products also will be demonstrated, including a HDCP compliance test system.

The recently released Quantum Data 882E generator boosts 4:4:4 mode color precision from 8-bits/component (24-bits/pixel) to 10-bits or 12-bits/component (30 or 36-bits/pixel) at pixel rates up to 165M pixels/second. Added test images allow users to compare fine color transitions - rendered side-by-side at different depths - and see changes in "banding" thresholds.

Quantum Data's HDCP compliance test system will be the world's first commercially available HDCP compliance test system when it is released in early 2007. The test system was designed to reduce the interoperability problems encountered in the field, especially when repeaters are inserted into an HDMI path. Previously, designers had to rely on in-house tools and proprietary test equipment available only to authorized test centers. Quantum Data will soon offer an HDCP compliance test option for its 882-series instruments that will allow developers of HDMI products to perform an official, fast and comprehensive HDCP compliance test on any HDMI source, sink or repeater with the press of a few buttons. The system will issue reports that provide detailed pass/fail results and, in the case of failure, invaluable troubleshooting information. Reports will be viewable on-line, transferable over a network, and printable. Quantum Data collaborated with Digital Content Protection (DCP DCP - definitional constraint programming ) LLC (Logical Link Control) See "LANs" under data link protocol.

 to develop the test system.

Other innovative solutions that Quantum Data will feature at the CES Show include:

* The official HDMI Consumer Electronics Control (CEC (Central Electronic Complex) The set of hardware that defines a mainframe, which includes the CPU(s), memory, channels, controllers and power supplies included in the box. Some CECs, such as IBM's Multiprise 2000 and 3000, include data storage devices as well. ) compliance test suite and related development tools. Quantum Data's CEC Development & Compliance Test Suite helps manufacturers quickly integrate CEC into their products and perform all CEC-related tests found in the HDMI Compliance Test Specification. The suite includes a test management environment (TME See Tivoli Systems Management Software. ), that generates detailed HTML HTML

reports containing pass/fail information, and an integrated troubleshooting environment (ITE) with CEC device emulators that interact with prototype designs during development. The HDMI compliance test specification recommends Quantum Data's 882CA test instrument, TME software and associated Test Point Adapters for conducting CEC compliance tests. Quantum Data's HDMI CEC Development and Compliance Test Suite was the result of a collaborative effort with HDMI Licensing, LLC.

* An Auxiliary Channel Analyzer (ACA ACA - Application Control Architecture ) that monitors DDC See VESA DDC.  and CEC bus transactions. Quantum Data's Auxiliary Channel Analyzer provides monitoring and analysis of all HDMI auxiliary channels, such as the DDC, hot plug detect and CEC bus. It allows developers to view and save all bus traffic - right down to the bit, block, and frame - so developers can quickly locate and document CEC and DDC protocol problems.

Quantum Data's products will be featured at Booth 25911 in the HDMI TechZone at the Consumer Electronics show. The HDMI TechZone is located in the Las Vegas Convention Center The Las Vegas Convention Center is owned and operated by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and is located in Clark County, Nevada. It is one of the largest Convention centers in the world. At the end of 2004, the center had 3. , South Hall-2.

About Quantum Data

For 27 years Quantum Data has been at the leading edge of the audio/video testing industry.
