Qualitative Marketing Software, Inc. (QMSoft), a recognized leader in data enhancement and data quality technology, announced today a new licensing agreement with VNU Marketing Information Services' Precision Marketing Group (PMG). Through this pact, VNU PMG companies Claritas, National Decision Systems (NDS), Spectra Marketing, and Trade Dimensions/National Research Bureaus now have access to vital geographic encoding technology that enables them to link address level information to geography for use in a broad array of consumer marketing applications.

This new licensing agreement specifically furnishes Claritas, NDS, and the other VNU PMG companies with rights to use Qualitative Marketing Software's Centrus(TM) GeoStan, Centrus Spatial+, and Centrus Merge/Purge technologies, and provides for Claritas to serve as an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  for the GeoStan product as well. Moreover, the execution of this agreement also marks the first time that QMS (1) (Minolta-QMS, Inc., Mobile, AL) A manufacturer of laser printers founded in 1977 by Jim Busby. Initially involved with controllers for printing bar codes and labels, it entered the laser printer business in the mid-1980s and set numerous records.  technology has been ported to the DEC Alpha UNIX UNIX

 platform.

"Our partnership with VNU, Claritas, NDS, and the other VNU PMG companies is strategic for Qualitative Marketing as we entrench ourselves in the data warehousing and market research commerce sectors," says Paul Wray, co-founder and president of Qualitative Marketing Software. "Adding them to our elite group of users, has allowed us the opportunity to append to our UNIX ports the DEC Alpha box, an industry standard for most data warehouses, increasing the multiple platform availability of our data enhancement and data quality technology. The agreement is clearly a win-win situation for both the VNU Precision Marketing Group and QMSoft."

According to Nancy Deck, President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Claritas, Inc,: "The QMS technology enables us to interact with our client's data, to better develop our own software and applications, and to offer the QMSoft geographic management software as a part of our software product line. By using this technology, Claritas and its sister companies are now able to do project work and deliver a solution both on the desktop and in the data warehouse environment of the client as well."
