2300 series, designed to help IT managers sleep better at night by reducing their data management anxiety.

The ISP2332 is a second generation, single-chip, dual-channel 2Gb Fibre-Channel controller, which targets storage, clustering and networking applications. The newly designed switch consists of award-winning controller chips, host bus adapters See host adapter. , network switches and management software to move data from the storage device through the fabric to the server. Unlike its competitors, its memory is internal and it includes two embedded microprocessors and embedded Inserted into. See embedded system.  SerDes.

QLogic, the reliability and efficiency of the ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) Pronounced "a-sick." A chip that is custom designed for a specific application rather than a general-purpose chip such as a microprocessor.  chips are assured by the company's relentless test reliability and failure analysis. What is going to sell the switch is its sheer power, which is exemplified by its 160,000 I/Os per second. For those of you who already own its predecessor and are concerned about cross-compatibility, the newer version is fully software- and pin-compatible with its predecessor.

QLogic also offers its popular San Surfer, which simplifies the process of networking storage for OEMs, resellers and systems integrators with the only end-to-end infrastructure in the industry. The application features single-point management and control, automatic fail-over, load balancing The fine tuning of a computer system, network or disk subsystem in order to more evenly distribute the data and/or processing across available resources. For example, in clustering, load balancing might distribute the incoming transactions evenly to all servers, or it might redirect them , and end-to-end diagnostics. With its single intelligent interface, it provides the user everything necessary to configure and manage SAN fabric. Samples of the ISP2332 will be available this quarter with general availability mid-year.
