QUEST SOFTWARE ANNOUNCES SHAREPLEX VERSION 3.0 TO ENSURE 24X7 BUSINESS CONTINUITY.

Quest Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: QSFT), a leading provider of application management solutions, has announced the release of SharePlex version 3.0 to eliminate downtime via Oracle database replication. SharePlex's unique log-based replication technology reduces the impact of both planned and unplanned downtime by offering an accessible replica of the production database. Unlike most replication methods where the replica is unavailable, SharePlex provides a functional copy of the database so organizations can put it to use and eliminate planned downtime typically associated with reporting, hardware migrations and data warehousing.

SharePlex version 3.0 offers improved management with built-in monitoring and diagnostics of the replication process with Spotlight on SharePlex. In addition, the new release expands replication support to include Oracle's large objects and replication within a cluster. SharePlex also offers easier setup with the ability to perform "live" activation so no downtime is required to get SharePlex up and running. And, the DataEquator feature in SharePlex enables administrators to audit the replication process without interrupting production activity.

SharePlex is available as a stand-alone replication solution or within the SharePack bundle. SharePack further improves application performance and availability by offering the replication component with built-in monitoring and diagnostics as well as application tuning with SQLab Vision, tablespace management and reorganization with Space Manager, and Schema Manager for change deployment -- all in all improving the integrity of the data being replicated.
