Byline: Greg Botonis Daily News Staff Writer

After more than a month of being closed for renovations, the Quartz Hill Library reopened its doors Tuesday to eager patrons.

because she was tired of reading the same book,'' said Community Library Manager Virginia Tenneson. ``Our customers were coming in the door at 10 a.m. just waiting to get in and use their library.''

The library building underwent a face lift, which included new tile tile, one of the ceramic products used in building, to which group brick and terra-cotta also belong. Although the Story Time reading program for preschoolers will not resume until May 21, all other programs, including the family and adult literacy programs, are back in operation.

``We are just extremely pleased,'' said Tenneson. ``It's almost like stepping into a whole new place. It's brighter and looks bigger and it just feels new.''

Library hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Thursday, and Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

``We're happy to be back,'' said library aide Terri Gates. ``We've been back about a week restocking the shelves but I think we were happier about the reopening than the customers.''
