QUARTZ HILL ALMOND BLOSSOM FESTIVAL SET.

QUARTZ HILL - The theme is ``Quartz Hill, Watch Us Blossom'' for the Almond Blossom Festival The Almond Blossom Festival is an annual arts, social, and entertainment festival held every year on the first weekend of August at Willunga, South Australia, Australia.  to be held March 12 and 13 at George Lane George Lane (born 1940 ) is a British "mental calculator" and author. He is a three-times world champion and one of only three Grandmasters of Mental Calculation, as recognised by the Mind Sports Organisation.  Park, 5520 W. Ave. L-8.

The festival kicks off with a parade at 9 a.m. March 12 on 50th Street West north of Avenue M.

``Our theme for this year, `Quartz Hill, Watch Us Blossom!' really reflects the growth Quartz Hill has been experiencing over the last few years,'' said Chamber President Rodney Jacobson. ``Quartz Hill continues to blossom into a place a family can be proud to call home.''

The winning theme entry was submitted by Kathleen Densing, who will receive $50 and ride in the parade.

Just before the parade begins, the annual pet parade will be held. Both parades end at George Lane Park, where the festival will feature food and craft vendors, rides and games.

The Lost Canyon Rangers Rapidly deployable airborne light infantry organized and trained to conduct highly complex joint direct action operations in coordination with or in support of other special operations units of all Services.  will provide entertainment along with other local bands.

``The Quartz Hill Chamber of Commerce is very pleased to present this event to the community, as it has for the last 55 years. Every year, it gets better and this year is no exception. We've added vendor booths, rides for the kids, and more local entertainment,'' said Jacobson. ``We're also very excited about the Quartz Hill Women's Club Women’s clubs first arose in the United States during the post-civil war period.
