Connecting to the parallel port of any QMS magicolor 2, QMS magicolor 2 DeskLaser, or QMS magicolor 330 color laser printer, the QMS SC-200 integrates an office's common document publishing tasks into a single, versatile solution. With a list price starting at only $399, the QMS SC-200 is a cost-effective way for businesses to make the most of their printing resources.

Making Copies with Your Color Laser Printer

When used as a digital copier, the QMS SC-200 conveniently operates much like a traditional copy machine. Its no-nonsense front panel lets users make selections such as copy count, contrast adjustments, and zoom settings with the simple push of a button. After the QMS SC-200 "copies" the document, the QMS magicolor printer delivers full-color copies at up to four pages per minute (ppm), and black and white copies at up to 16 ppm.

The QMS SC-200 copies and scans physical pages up to legal size (8.5" x 14"), and can reduce/enlarge documents from 25% to 400%. An Auto Zoom feature is also available to automatically scale the original image to fit the page size selected on the QMS SC-200. To copy several pages at a time, businesses can purchase a QMS SC-200 equipped with a 30-sheet Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) -- a handy feature for busy workgroups. This model will be available in Summer, 1999 and have a list price of $599.

The text quality produced with the QMS SC-200 is crisp, and images and colors reproduce with detail and brilliance. Density and color intensity adjustments are available from the keypad to fine-tune output. Because the QMS SC-200 uses the printer's consumables (such as toner) for printing copies, there are no extra supplies to order and upkeep costs are virtually non-existent.

To use the QMS SC-200 as a desktop color scanner requires connecting it to the host computer with the supplied parallel cable. Once attached, users can scan photographs, designs, or any other non-electronic document at up to 600 dpi, then edit the scanned image using software included with the SC-200. The images can be then be easily incorporated into a business report, newsletter, Web site, or presentation and printed in full color on the magicolor printer.
