The QMS 3260 uses a high-capacity toner cartridge that delivers output for about a penny a page. This single component, quick-change cartridge can print up to 23,000 pages before requiring replacement -- minimizing downtime and user intervention.

QMS CrownAdmin(R) 3 printer management software addresses one of the greatest challenges faced by systems managers today -- managing network peripherals. QMS CrownAdmin 3 has the same "look and feel" across all host platforms and offers common functionality regardless of the operating system. From any workstation, managers can configure, adjust settings, and review the status of any QMS network print system. Another member of the QMS 3260's complete suite of management tools is QMS CrownView(tm). A printer-resident Web page, QMS CrownView provides a real-time look into printer activities. Anyone with Internet access and a Web browser can use CrownView to check on the status of print jobs, view current printer settings -- even check consumable levels through easy-to-read displays. In addition, users can configure CrownView to send an email to any person or persons on the network when the printer needs attention. For example, if the printer requires more toner or paper, it will intelligently send an email to users, or even re-route the message to a personal beeper for the network administrator on the go.

Using a 150 MHz, 64-bit RISC processor and the proven QMS Crown controller architecture, the QMS 3260 excels at document processing and printing. QMS Crown offers many performance "enhancers," such as job spooling and multiple protocol support, that aid significantly in overall throughput, often relieving host and network resources at the same time.

The QMS CrownNet(R) for Ethernet interface is standard on the QMS 3260. This multiprotocol interface provides PC, Macintosh, and UNIX users simultaneous access to the printer. For businesses moving toward Fast Ethernet LANs, the interface's 10BaseT/100BaseTX capabilities make the transition cost-effective, supporting both types of LANs throughout the implementation.

The QMS 3260 supports paper sizes up to 11" x 17" and prints on a variety of media including plain paper, thick stock, envelopes and transparencies. The printer's standard input capacity of 1,050 sheets is expandable to 3,550 sheets for "fill-and-forget" printing. Likewise, the QMS 3260 has a 500-sheet output bin that offsets users' print jobs for easy distinction. Output capacity can be increased to 2,300 pages with the addition of a QMS Stackler. This 2,000-sheet, 3-bin output option can stack and staple documents up to 50 pages -- 100 duplexed faces -- in length, generating documents ready for distribution.

Expand the capabilities of the QMS 3260 even further with the QMS SC-100 -- an easy-to-use, one-button digital copier/scanner. Connect the QMS SC-100 to the printer with a parallel cable for a centrally located document service center. The QMS SC-100 has a keypad patterned after traditional copiers, allowing users to select copy count, adjust brightness levels, or resize a document by simply pushing a button.
