Upgrading to new QMS Crown print systems allows users to take advantage of advanced network printing and document handling capabilities, without losing the printing functionality for mission critical applications resident on the mainframe system.

Through a combination of hardware and software, the IHS udk2pcl printer protocol converter enables QMS Crown print systems to translate and print Xerox User Defined Any format, layout, structure or language that is developed by the user.  Key (UDK) and Xerox Escape Sequence (XES), without requiring rewriting of the host application.

QMS Crown print systems can be shared simultaneously among multiple terminals and PCs, and offer advanced features such as fonts and forms storage on the printer hard disk, and automatic letter size page conversion from edge-to-edge UDK printing.

Pricing and Availability

The IHS printer protocol converter is available immediately, and is QMS reference priced at $4,200. An optional 3270 internal Coax board is available for $1,100, and a Turbo Speed Option is priced at $1,200.

QMS laser print systems are available in the U.S. directly from QMS, Inc. and its network of authorized distributors and resellers. Outside the U.S., the laser product family is available from QMS and its authorized distributors.

QMS Crown Print Systems

QMS offers a complete range of monochrome laser print systems from 10 to 45 page-per-minute (ppm) speeds, and color laser printers offering 3-6 ppm in color and 12 ppm in monochrome. QMS laser printers are based on QMS Crown and CrownNet technologies.
