Joining the DeskLaser in the spotlight, the magicolor 6100 N was ranked highest in the 11" x 17"-size class and fifth overall, placing QMS at the top of the chart in both letter- and tabloid-sized color laser printing categories.

The PC World test center rates products on print quality, price, features, speed, service and support, and ease of use. The magicolor 2 DeskLaser scored high in all of these areas and was recognized for its "impressive print quality and performance," and the fact that it was the least expensive model on the chart. The magicolor 6100 N, the only new tabloid-size printer to make the Top 10 list, was complemented on its ease of use and "...handsome print quality." Like the DeskLaser, the magicolor 6100 N was the least expensive tabloid printer tested.
