US Gen. Tommy Franks Tommy Ray Franks (born June 17, 1945 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma) is a retired General in the United States Army, previously serving as the Commander of the United States Central Command, overseeing United States Armed Forces operations in a 25-country region, including the Middle East. , who will oversee war against Iraq if it comes, arrives in Doha. The duration of his stay and specific mission are unclear. His aides say the stay will be brief and he will then fly on to other countries in the region or return to his Central Command headquarters in Tampa, Florida “Tampa” redirects here. Tampa is a United States city in Hillsborough County, on the west coast of Florida. It serves as the county seat for Hillsborough County.GR6.
