Pushbutton Switches Line From Embossing to Casting.A new five-extruder, seven-layer coex cast-film line from Davis-Standard Egan Film & Coating Systems, Pawcatuck, Conn., is the third and largest system built to date with a new automatic switchover from embossing embossing, process of producing upon various materials designs or patterns in relief by mechanical means. The new line has 129-in. rolls for making 120-in.-wide finished film. The system was installed in January at Atlantis Plastics' custom films div. in Mankato, Minn., where it will make films with PE, PP, nylon, EVOH EVOH Ethylene Vinyl Alcohol Polymer (chemical industry) and other resins.
