(Letters from our readers).Congratulations on your article "Buying Green," which showed the power of governments, hospitals, colleges and corporations in moving towards environ mentally friendly purchasing. The New England New England, name applied to the region comprising six states of the NE United States—Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. The region is thought to have been so named by Capt. Anti-Vivisection Society (NEAVS NEAVS New England Anti-Vivisection Society ) and its affiliate, the Ethical Science and Education Coalition (ESEC ESEC European Software Engineering Conference ESEC Eye Surgery Education Council ESEC Ecole Superieure d'Etudes Cinematographiques (Paris, France) ESEC En-Route Secondary Radar Beacon ESEC Electronic Surface Element Control ), want to highlight the connection between environmentally friendly and cruelty-free products--those not tested on or derived from animals. Not only are cruelty-free final products more likely to be "green," but also their production process is inherently more environmentally friendly, since there is no need for contaminated contaminated, v 1. made radioactive by the addition of small quantities of radioactive material. 2. made contaminated by adding infective or radiographic materials. 3. an infective surface or object. bedding, animal waste or carcasses. Those of us concerned about the environment must not participate in the purchasing of animal-tested products or other harmful and unnecessary uses of animals.
