, announced today the appointment of John P. Hanrahan, M.D., M.P.H., as Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Hanrahan will lead the Company's clinical development programs beginning with Phase II trials assessing the efficacy of Pulmatrix's lead product in the treatment and prevention of several different respiratory infectious diseases infectious diseases: see communicable diseases. .

Dr. Hanrahan joins Pulmatrix from Sepracor where he most recently served as Executive Medical Director for Pulmonary products. During his six years with Sepracor he led clinical development activities for the asthma drug Levalbuterol and the COPD COPD chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
