I vividly recall an incident years ago as a young teacher when our towering vice principal was punched in the face by a defiant student in a high school cafeteria. So affected by that spectacle, that experienced administrator immediately resigned. Coincidentally, if not incredibly, I replaced him as the disciplinarian dis·ci·pli·nar·i·an n.
