Publix Super Markets Selects Kane Industries for Three-Division, 720-Store, End-Cap Continuity Promotion Programs in 2004.

Kane Industries was selected by Publix Super Markets to supply displays and coordinated kitchen ceramic, textile, and vinyl products for end-cap continuity promotions in 2004. Approximately 720 stores in the company's Lakeland, Miami, and Atlanta Divisions will participate in the Kane promotions, which are slated to run in January and April.
Publix will run two January programs featuring the Kane Catalina collection, and a third in April featuring Kane's Tuscany Spice collection. The January promotions include an eight-week run at Publix' 298-store Lakeland Division and a ten-week program at its 221-store Miami Division. The Tuscany Spice program will run for six weeks in Publix' 201-store Atlanta Division.
According to Kane president Jim Zimring, "This deal is a direct result of the impressive performance experienced by Publix with our Catalina collection at the company's Jacksonville Division in April 2003 -- one of the best continuity programs we've run to date. Although Kane is considered a relative newcomer to the supermarket continuity business, we have enjoyed significant success in a relatively short period of time, which I credit to our unique coordinated product offerings."
Products to be offered in the Publix promotions include hand-painted ceramic plates, mugs and bowls, as well as matching large serving pieces, salt and pepper shakers, trivets, and spoon rests. Other goods include coordinated printed kitchen towels, dish cloths, pot holders, oven mitts, and vinyl placemats and flannelback tablecloths. The Kane Catalina pattern features a spirited, playful seashore motif, while Tuscany Spice is captures the aesthetic old-world charm and colors of the Mediterranean. Retail prices are $1.49 to $3.99 for most items, while some of the larger serving pieces are priced as high as $12.99 and $14.99.
