Publisher alters DM package in light of September 11. (Promotion).


The first newsletter direct mail promotion we received that referred to the tragic events of this fall was mailed in early October promoting McAlvany Intelligence Advisor, a financial advisory published by Donald S. McAlvany since 1978.

The basic package remained the same: a 16-page sales letter that begins, "They all laughed when I predicted a 4,000-point drop in the Dow. But when it started to tumble...!"; a flier describing the bonuses for subscribing; an oversize o·ver·size

Also, inside McAlvany added a 4-page letter headed "BULLETIN The information inside was printed before September 11...."--followed by a "Dear Fellow American" letter signed by Don McAlvany. He was unavailable for comment.
