(Promotion).The first newsletter direct mail promotion we received that referred to the tragic events of this fall was mailed in early October promoting McAlvany Intelligence Advisor, a financial advisory published by Donald S. McAlvany since 1978. The basic package remained the same: a 16-page sales letter that begins, "They all laughed when I predicted a 4,000-point drop in the Dow. But when it started to tumble...!"; a flier describing the bonuses for subscribing; an oversize o·ver·size n. 1. A size that is larger than usual. 2.
